Your CatsOverPlans pieces are made to be worn, snuggled in, and loved by cats and humans alike. A little care keeps the print sharp and the fabric soft for a long time.
The Care Routine
- Turn it inside out. This one small step protects the print from rubbing and fading in the wash.
- Wash in cold or warm water. Never hot. Hot water fades color, cracks prints, and can shrink the fabric.
- Use mild detergent on a gentle cycle. Skip the bleach and harsh chemicals. They wear down the print over time.
- No fabric softener. It can break down the bond between the ink and the fabric.
- Keep the spin low to medium. A long, fast spin is hard on both fabric and print.
- Air dry when you can. If you use a dryer, tumble on low, and keep your tee away from heavy items like jeans and towels that scuff the print.
- Iron inside out, on low heat. Never press the iron directly on the print.
Please Avoid
- Hot water
- Bleach or harsh chemicals
- High-heat drying
- Ironing directly on the print
- Fabric softeners
- Dry cleaning
- Washing with rough items like zippers, heavy denim, or Velcro
A Note About Cat Fur
If your cat considers your new shirt a bed, try a lint roller or a quick tumble in the dryer on a no-heat or low-heat setting to loosen the fur before washing. Please do not use sticky tape on the print itself.
